ReBuild
In 2014, while serving as the Secretary for the Melbourne University chapter of Engineers Without Borders, I ran a new event called ReBuild. Volunteers spent the weeks leading up to the day gathering hard rubbish from all over Melbourne. Then, we congregated in a courtyard at Abbotsford Convent, and spent the day building new things from old rubbish.

The collection of quirky tables, chairs, planters, and endless odds-and-ends were then put up for a silent auction, all to raise money for EWB.
The day was a heaps of fun, with people of all skill levels learning from each other, having crazy ideas, and getting their hands dirty. |
At the end of the day, as strangers walked past they joined in the auction, and the fundraiser was a success. The ReBuild event is still running at Melbourne University today.
